Researchers: Damage from U.S. extremists is a concern

BOSTON — When it comes to fears about a terrorist attack, people in the U.S. usually focus on Osama bin Laden and foreign-based radical groups. Yet researchers say domestic extremists who commit violence in the name of their cause - abortion or the environment, for example - account for most of the damage from such incidents in this country.

Al-Arian begins third hunger strike

Alexandria, VA. — Dr. Sami Al-Arian began a hunger strike for justice on March 3 to protest continued government harassment. The former University of South Florida professor was informed that he would be called to testify before a third grand jury in Virginia, only weeks before his scheduled release date of April 7. That date will likely be pushed back indefinitely when he is called before a grand jury sometime in the coming weeks, according to the Tampa Bay Coalition for Justice and Peace.
