When Moses saved the Israelites from slavery and went up the Holy Mountain to meet with God, the Chosen People carved up a Golden Calf and started worshipping it. It did not seem like the religiously correct thing to do at the time - given that God had just saved them from Pharaoh – but the ungrateful Israelites could not resist idolatry. |
