As Ramadan begins and the first day of fasting progresses, we commonly experience that we do not feel hungry at what would have been our normal lunch time. This automatic adjustment in our metabolic system is indeed a great mercy from our Creator who makes things easier for us. If a mere change in dietary time table is all it took to sail through the month successfully, then most of us would be confidently ready to shift gears abruptly as the Ramadan moon is sighted. But success in Ramadan means much more and it requires a great deal of effort. |
