Shortly after 9/11, actor and comedian Steve Martin, also a prolific novelist and screenwriter, came up with an idea for a terrorist-themed movie, which he subsequently pitched to - of all studios - Disney. The premise was tantalizing: 50 terrorists attempting to blow up 50 buses in the United States end up on the same bus. The studio liked the idea, but did not think the political climate at the time was appropriate. A few years later and after the rights were bought by Overture Films, Jeremy Nachmanoff (co-writer of "The Day After Tomorrow") got attached to write and direct the film titled, "Traitor." It took another two years before the film was made with the help of its star, Don Cheadle. |
