IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF THE PROPHETS:
By A. Mohamed

Around 637 AD, a strong Muslim army that had laid siege for months on end in Jerusalem eventually ended the Byzantine rule there. However, Orthodox Christian patriarch Sophronius refused to hand over the key of the city except to the Caliph Omar Ibn Al-Khattab himself. The flagship organization of the movement Progressive Muslim Union of North America has lost almost 90% of its board members.

An Interfaith View: If Not Now, When?
By Lawrence Swaim

When Senator Barbara Boxer withdrew her "Certificate of Accomplishment" from Basim Elkarra, the director of the Sacramento Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), it raised a firestorm of controversy within the interfaith community. But her behavior afterwards was just as disturbing. Agreeing to meet with CAIR, Boxer refused to respond to their emailed suggestions for discussion. Instead she insisted that the incident was over—then made sure the wounds would stay open. After the meeting, Boxer told the Associated Press that she still had "concerns" about CAIR, but didn’t say what they were. How can you address concerns if you don’t know what they are?
