The U.S. House of Representatives and the Senate have voted on a bill demanding a timetable for an end to the combat in and withdrawal of troops from Iraq. The House bill included supplemental war spending provisions and set a deadline of October 1, 2008 for Iraqis to take charge of their own security. The Senate approved a $122 billion war spending bill that calls for withdrawal of most US forces by March 31, 2008 and sets a goal for total pullout by August 31, 2008.
