More than 90 students graduate from school’s Sunday program Print E-mail
By From news agencies
REDLANDS, Calif. – The Redlands Peace Academy held its second annual graduation ceremony June 8 in the Orton Center on the campus of the University of Redlands. Approximately 300 attendees were present while 96 students received graduating diplomas and medals.

Dr. Dany Doueiri, professor of Arabic and Islamic history at Cal-State San Bernardino, was the guest speaker. He congratulated the students on their achievements and stressed the importance of continuing community activities.

The Sunday school program is held in Stauffer Complex at the University of Redlands. The school has four grades and a youth group with age range from 5-15.

There are four aspects of the curriculum: didactic teaching of Islamic principles, activity related to the concept taught, Qur’an recitation and memorization, and physical education.

The school is closed for summer.

However, regular Qur’an classes, soccer club and educational field trips are going to continue during this time.

The school is scheduled to re-open in October, after Ramadan.
