Intifada hopes third time’s the charm in MBL finals Print E-mail
By Aamir Syed, Contributing Writer

ANAHEIM, Calif. – The Muslim Basketball League began with 16 teams. More than 150 players – old and new – competed against each other for four months, and now there are only 18 players left standing.

The best-of-three MBL Finals began Nov. 1 with the 6th seeded underdogs, Supreme, winning game 1 by a score of 39-36.

Intifada, who has in the Finals twice previously, looks for their first ever MBL Championship. Supreme, a fusion of multiple teams from past Finals experience, has two players that played in the Finals just last year.

Game 2 will be on Nov. 8, and game 3 (if necessary) will be on Nov. 15. All games will start at 7 p.m. at the Anaheim Youth Center.

Players to watch:

Intifada – Kevin Amir & Rookie of the Year, David Norris

Supreme – Samer Rizk & 2006 Most Valuable Player, Julian Blake

You can follow all the action on the league’s upgraded Web site, featuring the all-new Ragin’ Smack Talk Radio, a podcast hosted by MBL players.
