NCAA Tournament: Sweet 16 Choices

(3) Purdue vs. (15) St. Peters

Friday, 7:09 pm | CBS, March Madness Live: St. Peter’s Kentucky (double digit dog) and Murray State (almost double digit dog) were able to pick their way to their first Sweet 16. Why not hide this number? Burdock’s staff is no doubt a complex fit for peacocks, and I expect the boilers to roll. But the story of the Cinderella series shows that there is juice to sustain this competition. Choice: St. Peters +12.5

(1) Kansas vs. (4) Providence

Friday, 7:29 pm | TBS, March Madness Live: I ended up choosing against Providence. Never again. Ed Cooley is a magician who has adjusted his body lovers as well as any team left on the field. It may not be a successful formula against a compatible KU team that can win in different ways, but I think it is a formula that will help them cover up the spread. Choice: Providence +7.5

(4) UCLA vs. (8) North Carolina

Friday, 9:39 pm | CBS, March Madness Live: Jaime Jacques’ health seems to be less questionable than it was a few days ago – all indications that he will play – which makes me comfortable with putting two points with the Bruins. Their skill and experience on the back court is a definite advantage, and I expect Mick Crohn’s to say something in response to the slow Brady Manek tearing up this match all the time. Friday, 9:59 pm | TBS, March Madness Live: Jim Lorenka’s Miami team is old, experienced and stumbled upon at the right time by Isaiah Wong’s hot match and the firm hands of Com McCasty and Charlie Moore. I’m going to take the team with the best veterinarians and put points with hurricanes. Choice: Miami-2.5
