Briscoe’s NFL Week 4 picks: Cowboys roll over Commanders, Eagles roll past Jaguars, Trubisky silences doubters

There are some weeks when picking up NFL games destroys one’s soul.

Consider me destroyed.

for now. I am very resilient and very hard to stay down for long periods of time. But, man, I was bad last week.

I went 7-9 straight up, 5-10-1 against our spread Expert selection And 1-5 as part of my best bets Select six podcasts. This drops my season records to 24-23-1 straight up, 22-25-1 ATS and 10-8 against my best bets.

The good start I had to start the season was ruined. That means it’s time to get back on track.

Expect 65 percent winners this week. Can a man dream?

Special game | Cincinnati Bengals vs. Miami Dolphins

It’s a tough spot for Miami. They have a huge, emotional sectional victory over them Bills Now has to travel to play a good Bengals team in a short week. It could be Joe Burrow and Dua Tagovailoa, depending on Tagovailo’s health. Both met in college. I think Burrow will get the best of him in a short week at home – even with the dua playing. Bengal teams will show great performance and win.

Selection: Bengals 30, Dolphins 20

Sunday, 9:30 a.m. ET (NFL Network, FuboTV)

Special game | New Orleans Saints vs. Minnesota Vikings

The Saints have major problems on offense right now, which is not a good thing. The Vikings rallied to score Lions, but they don’t look the same on offense either. Where is Justin Jefferson? And Dalvin may cook out. This could be a low-scoring game that I think the Saints will find a way to win.

Selection: Saints 21, Vikings 17

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (CBS, Paramount+)

Special game | Atlanta Falcons vs. Cleveland Browns

The Falcons return home after losing two road games on the West Coast Rams And beat Seattle last week. The offense was good in that Seattle game and I think that will continue here. But can they stop the Browns? I don’t think so. Cleveland will get the win with their run and timely passing.

Selection: Browns 27, Falcons 23

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (CBS, Paramount+)

Special game | Baltimore Ravens vs. Buffalo Bills

The Bills play consecutive road games, which is always tough. But they are coming off their first loss and facing major injury issues. The Ravens also have injury issues. Both quarterbacks are playing at an MVP level. So look for a lot of points when Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson shoot it out. Find the bills, get better at it and get back in the win column.

Selection: Bills 35, Ravens 30

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (Fox, FuboTV)

Special game | Dallas Cowboys vs. Washington Commanders

Washington was poor in all aspects of the game last week, but Dallas is playing on a short week. Even so, there is a big mismatch on the Dallas defensive front against the Washington offensive line. That line was bad last week. It will be here too. The Cowboys will win behind some turnovers forced by that line and a good ground game.

Selection: Cowboys 27, Commanders 16

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (Fox, FuboTV)

Special game | Detroit Lions vs. Seattle Seahawks

The Lions are losing a game they should have won. Seattle has lost two straight and looked bad. The Seahawks’ defense has been poor, while the Lions’ have been very good. It will show in this one as Detroit gets back into the win column.

Selection: Lions 33, Seahawks 20

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (CBS, Paramount+)

Special game | Houston Texans vs. Los Angeles Chargers

The Chargers have really hit the ground running. They lost their star player of the year, Rashaan Slater, and Joey Bosa is likely to be out with a groin. This is in addition to all the injuries they already have. The Texans have a chance to capitalize on that, but Davis Mills has really struggled the last two weeks. Something tells him he’s getting it here. They are walking around in this.

Selection: Chargers 26, Texans 24

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (Fox, FuboTV)

This is a big early season AFC South game. Both teams have impressive home wins after poor road losses. Both teams have suffered a number of injuries. Every team wants their star back to run the ball. So who can? My pick is Jonathan Taylor over Derrick Henry. Colts win.

Selection: Colts 26, Titans 20

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (Fox, FuboTV)

Special game | New York Giants vs. Chicago Bears

Both of these teams are 2-1, but is anything good? The Giants play on a short week, but being at home helps ease that load. The Bears can run the football, but Justin Fields throws it less. The Giants would find a way to win 3-1.

Selection: Giants 20, Bears 14

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (CBS, Paramount+)

Special game | Philadelphia Eagles vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

This was one of the best games of the weekend. Who could have imagined? Watching the Eagles attack against the Jaguars defense will be a treat. Could the Jaguars have Jalen Hurts? It won’t be easy. That’s why I think the Eagles will find a way, but it’s close.

Selection: Eagles 28, Jaguars 24

Sunday, 1 p.m. ET (CBS, Paramount+)

Special game | Pittsburgh Steelers vs. New York Jets

The Steelers will have 10 days off as the Jets come to town. Pittsburgh’s offense has struggled in a big way, but this may be the game it’s all about. Jets have issues with safety. Pittsburgh will win as Mitch Trubisky silences Kenny Pickett talk.

Selection: Steelers 24, Jets 17

Sunday, 4:05 p.m. ET (Fox, FuboTV)

Special game | Carolina Panthers vs. Arizona Cardinals

The Panthers are coming off their first win of the season, while Arizona is coming off a home loss to the Rams. It has the makings of a low-scoring game with both offenses struggling. Watch the Carolina defense get the best of Kyler Murray. The Panthers won the second game behind their defense and the questions are really getting serious for the Cardinals brass.

Selection: Panthers 23, Cardinals 20

Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET (CBS, Paramount+)

Special game | Green Bay Packers vs. New England Patriots

The Patriots will be without Mack Jones, meaning Brian Hoyer at quarterback. That’s not a good thing against the Green Bay defense. The Packers also return to the offensive line, which should help get the passing game going. I think that will happen here. Big Bakers.

Selection: Packers 27, Patriots 14

Sunday, 4:25 p.m. ET (CBS, Paramount+)

Special game | Las Vegas Raiders vs. Denver Broncos

This is a big early AFC West game, especially for the Raiders. At 0-3, they need a win badly. They have lost some tough games. The Broncos played well on defense, but the offense struggled. That is the difference here. The desperate Raiders will find a way to move the ball on that Denver defense and get their first win.

Selection: Raiders 28, Broncos 24

Sunday, 8:20 p.m. ET (NBC, FuboTV)

Special game | Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs are coming off a road loss in Indianapolis to play a series of road games. The Bucs lost to the Packers last week in a game where they had little to no offense. The Chiefs haven’t been as good on offense this year as they have been in recent years and will be challenged by the Tampa Bay defense. The Bucks are very unlikely to win this game.

Selection: Chiefs 23, Bucks 17

Monday, 8:15 p.m. ET (ESPN, FuboTV)

Special game | San Francisco 49ers vs. Los Angeles Rams

The 49ers didn’t do much in last week’s loss to the Broncos, so the spotlight is now on Jimmy Garoppolo. He should be better. The Rams didn’t look good either, but beat the Cardinals and were 2-1. The 49ers will be without left tackle Trent Williams, which is a big win. Look for the Rams to get the best of Garoppolo and the 49ers offense. Rama took it.

Selection: Rams 27, 49ers 21
